Algarve Aims To Consume Four Times More Recycled Water by 2026

Durante Cordeiro, Minister for the Environment and Climate Action, Portugal visited Algarve and announced that Algarve will consume four times more recycled water by 2026, particularly water supplied to golf courses. The plan, the minister said, is to increase the regions current 2.1 cubic hectometer consumption of wastewater to 8.0 cubic hectometers in the next three years.

The minister was in the city of Albufeira to inaugurate a Wastewater Recycling and Reuse System, part of the Albufeira Wastewater Treatment Plant, that supplies to Zoomarine, a water theme park.
