On Wednesday March 29, 2023, Water Reuse Europe member TREEWATER (startup of the DEEP unit) will present its REUSE solution developed within the framework of the European project Life RECYCLO. The project’s ambition is to develop solutions to improve the management of water resources in the laundry sector and to reduce the discharge of polluting substances emitted by laundries into the aquatic environment.

From 2021 to 2024, the project partners will develop a wastewater treatment and recycling system adapted to the laundry sector. The treatment used by the process relies on advanced oxidation, which combines hydrogen peroxide and UV to eliminate more than 90% of pollutants. The recycled water will be reused onsite by the Laundries, saving 50 to 80% of water.

The goal of the Life RECYCLO project is to complete the industrialization of the process and to test its reproducibility. For this purpose, it will implemented in three laundries in France, Spain and Luxembourg.
