Water Reuse Europe Webinar on Industrial Reuse
28th January 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:45 pm CET

The global market for water reuse solutions has grown significantly since the early 90s, when less than 1 million m3/d of reuse plant was installed annually,
to 7 million m3/d installed capacity during 2017, and is projected to continue to expand to over 10 million m3/d by 2022. Globally, industrial use, along with agricultural reuse, is one of the largest global reuse markets. In Europe, although agricultural reuse remains the most common water reuse application, industrial reuse is a fast growing sector as industries are transitioning to circular economies to reduce their freshwater consumptions, hence their operational costs, reduce their environmental impact and overall become more sustainable and resilient to the impact of climate change.
With 53% of the freshwater being abstracted for industrial purposes, the potential for industrial water reuse is vast and opportunities seem endless. In addition, following the adoption of the European Water Reuse Regulations encouraging water reuse in agriculture, the commission, through its new Circular Economy Action Plan adopted in 2020, announced that it will facilitate water reuse and efficiency in other sectors, including in industrial processes.
In that context, Water Reuse Europe is organising a webinar to gauge the status of industrial reuse in Europe and discuss opportunities for further growth and challenges to address to further encourage circular approaches in the industrial sector.

About Water Reuse Europe
Water Reuse Europe (WRE) is the industry association for the European water reuse sector, offering a range of benefits and opportunities for both commercial and public organisations involved in water reuse scheme design, operation, and regulation. As we see significant growth in the number of industrial, agricultural, and municipal water reuse schemes across Europe, it is increasingly important that professionals and organisations working in the sector have opportunities to exchange experiences, advance knowledge and understanding, and develop a unified voice on important issues. WRE’s mission is to promote and support the sharing of good practices, knowledge, techniques, research, and experiences on water reuse and to advance its safe and effective exploitation in Europe.
Being a member of Water Reuse Europe enables companies, public bodies, trade associations and research institutions to take advantage of stimulating opportunities for knowledge exchange, advocacy, and education. It provides organisations with access to news and information about the latest developments in the reuse market and enables them to take advantage of specialist conferences, seminars, and workshops.
