France Makes Progress on New Water Plan – Six Months Update
Six months after unveiling a new water plan with the ambitious objective of saving 10% of water in the country by 2030 through water reuse, France has revealed the progress they have made in its implementation.
The plan included 53 measures to meet three challenges and at the six month mark, 31 measures have been initiated with 12 finalised. The plan supports French industries by setting up a targeted support system for 50 industrial sites, representing 23% of the industry’s freshwater samples and consumption. It also encourages communities to reduce water withdrawals related to their heritage and public services by 10% from 2025.
