Major food company operating in the UK saves 26 million litres through water reuse partnership
Pilgrim’s Europe has cut more than 26 million litres of mains water use in three years by partnering with water treatment specialist PureTec Separations.
At its Spalding site, a low‑cost diversion system captures water from softener regeneration and redirects it for use in livestock lorry washdowns — averaging around 40 m³ saved per day since May 2022. The initiative was delivered with minimal investment and no production downtime, easing pressure on local water supplies while delivering environmental and financial benefits.
