We are very pleased to announce the recent signing of a non-contractual Memorandum of Understanding between Water Reuse Europe and the Water Supply and Sanitation Technology Platform (WssTP).

Water Reuse Europe and WssTP have a number of common goals and through this new collaboration both organisations agreed to join forces to address the multiple challenges faced by the European water sector that could potentially lead to increased water scarcity, environmental pollution and increasing costs of dealing with the impact of climate changes on fresh water supply and demand.  In particular, as outlined under the MoU:

  • Water Reuse Europe and WssTP strive for a better recognition of the value of water and the value in water for our society and economy.
  • Both organisations pursue progressive and innovative water-related policies and regulations:
    • that support the creation of a Water-Smart society, and
    • break down barriers and bottleneck for the uptake of innovative solutions and the application of new technologies and governance models.

In that context, Water reuse Europe and WssTP will support each other’s communication and outreach activities and agreed to support the creation of a WssTP specialist group on Water Reuse involving the participation of representatives from both organisations. The group will be launched in the coming weeks!

We are convinced that this new collaboration will strengthen and advance the interests and activities of each organisation, but more importantly contribute to further promoting the European water reuse sector.
