New Water Recycling System Unveiled at Zoomarine

Portugal’s Minister of Environment and Climate Action, Duarte Cordeiro, inaugurated a Wastewater Recycling and Reuse System at Zoomarine, the theme park in Guia, Portugal.
The system was established in collaboration with Águas do Algarve, the regional water authority and will be linked to Albufeira Poente Wastewater Treatment Plant (ETAR).
The system is part of an effort to increase the consumption of recycled (waste) water in the region from the current 2.1 cubic hectometre to 8.0 cubic hectometres in three years’ time, particularly that supplied to golf courses, which use the recycled water for irrigation purposes.
