Onsite Industrial Water Reuse Webinar | Speakers
Find out more about the speakers at the Water Reuse Europe Webinar on ‘Onsite Industrial Water Reuse’ | 22 May 2025
Yoann Glocheux | Water Processing Manager | Danone, France
Presentation: Danone 4 R Strategy on Water: from Reducing to Reclaiming Water in Food & Beverages Industry.
Abstract: This webinar will present Danone’s 4R strategy on Water to minimise its water footprint at its factories. It will cover its origin to reduce, reuse, recycle and up to reclaim water in Food & Beverage Industry – highlighting key historical results. Internal tools and iconic examples will be presented, as well as return on experience to implement a successful Water Reduction Program. With many water recycling systems running and 11 reclaim systems installed – Danone will share pre-requisites, its internal guidelines and good practices to build and operate such systems. Reclaiming treated wastewater up to process water in the Food & Beverage industry is becoming more and more popular – however, a proper methodology is required to drive water savings while maintaining high quality standards in the industry.
Short biography: Yoann Glocheux is a Water Processing Manager at Danone, driving the Water Sustainability Strategy at manufacturing level and responsible for animating Water reduction programs across Danone production sites. With a background in Water Treatment technologies, Yoann holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University of Belfast. With 10 years of experience in Danone, his current role involves the development of water savings projects to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Reclaim Water.
Pol Pirotte
Business Developer | Eloy Water | Belgium.
Presentation: Reuse of Water from Plastic Processing.
Abstract: Water reuse in a plastic waste treatment plant, equipped with an MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) water treatment system, optimises resource use while minimising environmental impact. In this system, water used in industrial processes, such as plastic washing, is recovered, filtered, and treated using biological membranes. MBR treatment combines the advantages of membrane filtration and biological degradation to remove impurities, suspended solids, and organic pollutants. The purified water can be reused for the same processes or other activities within the plant, thus reducing drinking water consumption and limiting wastewater pollution. This approach contributes to more sustainable resource management and lowers operational costs related to water supply.
Short Biography: Pol Pirotte is a Business Developer at Eloy Water, a company specialising in water treatment solutions for over 40 years. Drawing on his technical expertise, he contributes to the development of innovative technologies in the fields of hydraulics and water management. Passionate about sustainability and environmental impact, Pol Pirotte plays a key role in projects aimed at improving water quality and promoting environmentally friendly practices.
