ReNutriWater: A Circular Approach to Water Management

Water scarcity is an increasing global challenge, and the EU-funded ReNutriWater project is leading the way in sustainable solutions. By promoting the safe reuse of water and nutrients, the initiative aims to reduce freshwater consumption, lower energy use, and minimise pollution.
The project is running pilot schemes in Poland, Denmark, Latvia, and Finland, testing innovative water treatment methods to ensure that reclaimed water is free from pathogens and micropollutants. This makes it safe for applications such as irrigation, street cleaning, and industrial use.
Beyond water conservation, ReNutriWater also focuses on recovering valuable nutrients from wastewater, reducing the reliance on artificial fertilisers and supporting a more sustainable agricultural system. By embracing this circular approach, the project contributes to a greener, more resource-efficient future.
