Sainsbury’s looking into water reuse

UK supermarket Sainsbury’s has made a pledge to invest £1 billion to reach Net Zero by 2040. Within that, they have committed to reduce their water usage. This includes looking to recycle water.
As part of driving towards water neutral by 2040, the chain is reviewing every aspect of water use across their business. They have identified certain areas as key targets for water reuse, including car washes and the ice on fish counters.
Sainsbury’s is not new to water reuse – 170 stores are fitted with rainwater harvesting facilities and are fitted as standard on new stores.
