Step forward for Southern Water recycling project, UK.

Southern Water’s Hampshire Water Transfer and Water Recycling Project, that was presented at our third Conference and Exhibition on Innovation in Water Reuse, has reached another milestone. The project has been approved by regulators for the next round of funding to continue its development.
The Hampshire initiative aims to address water shortages in Hampshire by creating a drought-resistant water supply, recycling treated wastewater into potable resources. Planned measures include a new water recycling facility and a reservoir at Havant Thicket, both to protect chalk streams and meet a projected shortfall of up to 180 million liters per day by 2050. Final approval is expected in early 2025.
