Valuing Water – World Water Day 2021
March 22 is World Water Day, and the 2021 theme is “Valuing Water”. Water Reuse Europe thinks water reuse is an excellent method of valuing water, as does the UNESCO World Water Development report. There is a whole section on water reuse and desalination as alternative sources.
It highlights the need for innovation and creating a circular economy to solve the issues facing the water sector: “The circular economy will value water to the extent that each litre is reused again and again, making water itself almost become part of the infrastructure rather than a consumable resource”.
